189. I explained the mechanics of 'that's what she said' to someone.
That someone was none other than Ms. Matera. We were talking about assigning editors in passing, and she quietly said "This is gonna be so hard" and I said "That's what she said." Well, Kayla and Molly thought it was pretty funny, but Ms. Matera had never really heard that joke before (I know, how is that possible?) We had to explain why it made sense, and why technically as females we shouldn't be able to use it, but we do anyway. It was a whole culture education session. I'm so happy to spread the love on the that's what she said front.

Bodies are where you find them
As I was Hula Hooping in front of the television, with Dudesie sitting there, I asked him how many push-ups he thought I could do. Like, non-girly man push-ups. He rolled his eyes and said 5, and I said I could do more, and then he challenged me to do ten. So I said I could do more than ten, and:
188. Apr. 27: I did more than ten real official push-ups.
More than ten meaning, 11, which still counts. What classifies as a real official push-up? Probably anything BUT the push-ups I did for my fitness test in gym Sophomore year, of which I think I did 24. I have little to no upper body strength, and I was very red afterward. Anybody who is not in shape, like myself, I challenge you to try it, because they are not easy at all.
So then I told Dudesie that after my 12-week plan is over, I'll do over 30 real push-ups. He doesn't really think i can do it, though. We'll see.

Inside Wants Out
187. Apr. 26: I am officially embarking on a "12-week plan"
Some of you, meaning probably only Emily, if even, might remember that I had this 12-week plan that I was going to do starting in the fall, and we can all guess how that panned out. I never mapped it out, and I kept putting it off for "another week." What is a 12-week plan you ask? I want to be in shape, and improve my quality of life. By my definition, getting in shape means I can run more than a mile at a time (at least) and have much better endurance overall. Quality of life to me means that I make better choices health wise, and I feel better all the time. I first started thinking about initiating this for myself when I was coming to the realization that I would probably collapse of exhaustion if I even attempted a 5k, or would not be able to complete my swim across and back the lake this year at the cabin. That was the fitness portion of my realization. Then I also realized my eating habits need to shape up after having 3 days of indulging in ice cream treats in a row (cone at Ben & Jerry's, medium Heath blizzard at DQ, Like it Cake Batter Ice Cream with Heath at Coldstone...). This, of course, was preceded by an equally indulgent weekend of terribly greasy foods: Chicken Strips and Fries at a Bar at Stout, Fried Chicken Bacon Swiss sandwich and Curly Fries at Arby's, Bacon Cheeseburger, Fries, and a whole Heath Malt at the Malt Shop, and an appetizer platter, steak, potatoes, and carrot cake at the Chanhassen. Take comfort in the fact that I'm sure your weekend didn't resemble mine, in any sense.
So, I'll reiterate, I don't think I'm fat by any stretch of the imagination, but being healthier would be much better for me, I'm sure. And c'mon, I'm a teenage girl, if I lose a few pounds, I won't complain.

In my Merlin Sleep
186. Apr. 25: I tried Tab soda.
Which is like the exact same thing as Coke, let me tell you. It has a little bit of a weirder flavor, so I don't think I would ever make the switch over, but it's a fair substitute. I like the can, too.

The Gentle Art of Listening
Much like yesterday, I don't like this one, and it's similar to one I've done before:
185. Apr. 24: I was the only person to show up to class.
Government. Nobody showed up to Government. It was just me and the Bergie Berr hanging out for awhile, and then I had to take a stupid pop quiz even though I was the ONLY one there. Such a cheap rip-off. I know for a fact 3 people were skipping class, and Mari was in Chicago, so she had a good excuse, but seriously people. No wonder everyone in that class is a lame excuse for a high school student. Seriously, I'm talking idiots.

Thursday is my busy day, and so as a result of not budgeting my free time wisely, my new thing ended up being:
184. Apr. 23: I payed to see a Zac Efron movie a second time.
And thoroughly enjoyed it. I have no idea why, I just totally love that movie. It weirds me out a bit, but I'm entitled to like crap, aren't I?

To thine ownself, be true
183. I wrote a movie review that was not for the Southerner.
My new thing tonight was going to be doing Tai Chi, but it got canceled, so I'm using this one. You all read it, unless you didn't, it was the 17 Again review. It actually didn't take as long as my Southerner ones, which usually take over an hour. Maybe there's something to that..

182. Apr. 21: I participated in Ben and Jerry's free cone day.
I tried this once before, but I got there too late, and no way am I paying for ice cream that I don't really want. So, I went again this year, and got my strawberry kiwi cone. I went with Jessica and Caroline, and they both got some sort of Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor. I've decided that Ben and Jerry's is overrated, it's not THAT great. I def prefer Coldstone, or Dairy Queen.
I'd also like to mention that even though I don't usually use a whole lot of pictures anyway, I've been having some technical difficulties, so that's why there haven't been any lately.

181. Apr. 20: I read fitness magazine.
Some people might have wanted me to get high on this day, because it was 4/20, but sorry, I did not.
I really like reading articles about fitness and nutrition, difficult as it may seem to believe, it's true. For some reason I never wanted to read it, but Caroline has a subscription so I took the newest copy, and read through it. It's pretty informative, I'd say. But not necessary to get the best health articles. There are more tid-bits in there than anything. If you want a good health article, read Glamour, they have a great health and fitness section.

9 1/2 Weeks
180. Apr. 19: I joined Twitter.
As soon as everyone started talking about Twitter, I just had no idea what it was. I still think it's really pointless, and like MySpace, if I weren't doing new things, I probably wouldn't have joined, but we'll see how well I end up liking it. My "page" I guess I don't really know what it's supposed to be called is twitter.com/AddieBelle. Follow me if you have one, but I can guarantee it won't be a whole lot of anything. So, we'll see if this catches on for me as much as Facebook and blogging. Celebrities seem to like it a whole lot. I'm convinced it's just a fad, but we'll see if I'm right.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
179. Apr. 18: I went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater sans Dudesie.
To get this right out of the way, yes I did go twice in one week which I was really excited about. I didn't get a chance to see "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and Emily went on another occasion, so Dudesie suggested I go with a group of my friends, so I took Jessica, Tianna, and Lizzie out there. They were pretty impressed with my hook-ups, I must say. I'm often impressed with myself. The show was good. I mean, well done, but I guess I'm not really a huge fan of that musical. All in all, fun experience, but I think I like going with Dudesie better, because I just feel much more VIP, if you will.

Seventeen Magazine
On the same day I went to Stout, I also went straight to Emily's school on my way back to the cities, and a couple of hours later, we went to go see 17 Again, which I surprised myself for actually wanting to see. Emily asked if I could write a review of it, even if it's not for the Southerner, and I said sure, so I'm gonna give my best go.

"17 Again" has many messages: 1. Don't get your girlfriend pregnant, 2. Be nice to the nerdy kid, 3. Zac Efron can apparently do something other than a musical, 4. And don't wait too long, or he'll turn into Matthew Perry (yeah right..)
Mike O'Donnell (Perry) has had to live his life like he never wanted. In a dead end job, getting a divorce, and barely knowing his kids. He get's thrown through some sort of time warp pool, and turns 17, again. Now, a young Mike (Efron) must pose as a new high school student, try to right all his wrongs with his wife (Leslie Mann), get to know his children, and in his spare time show off his killer basketball skills (Troy Bolton, anyone?)
The film relies heavily on comedy brought in by Mike's best friend, Ned (Thomas Lennon). Lennon steals every scene he's in, whether he's being over the top, or just standing there. And speaking of comedy, who know Zac Efron was funny? You did, if you watched him host "Saturday Night Live," but I now wonder if he suddenly lost the ability to sing and dance impecibly, he might be a perfect little comedic actor.
Now to put it simply, for what it is, it's an enjoyable film. Teenage comedies do not have to be directed well, or even be scripted well, which makes "17 Again" fit the bill. But as much as it is a pure Zac Efron guilty pleasure, it's a funny, enjoyable way to throw away your friday night, and to sit back and relax, knowing that dreamy Zac won't really turn into Matthew Perry. But one could only hope he'd still be as humorous.

This review may not reflect it, but I actually really liked it, surprising even myself. I thought it was funny, but it was kind of lame, and as I said, poorly directed. I think I'm seeing it again tomorrow night again. But there's a specific audience for it, as I'm sure you can gather, so know thine own self.

to who it may concern....
178. Apr. 17: I visited Stout for the first time.
You might be thinking I'm crazy for accepting admission at a school I've never even been to before, but it was a leap of faith, and I think it will probably pay off. It was a very nice campus, and I actually like the little main street right around the corner. The buildings are nicer than Eau Claire's, Menomonie is a nice place, there's a nice landscape, there are nice amenities, like a fitness center, which you have to pay for, but it's not terribly expensive, as well as many other things. I have a feeling it will work out pretty well.

All the King's Horses and All the King's Men
177. Apr. 16: I watched an episode of "The French Chef" with Julia Child.
She has a very commanding personality, and she does whatever she wants. I'm looking forward to Julie and Julia, because I want to know more about her. I, for instance, knew she was this famous chef who was really cool and stuff, but I didn't realize that she like invented the cooking show. Which, by the way, not as appealing in black and white. She was making a bouillabaisse and it did not look too delicious, the combination of fish shaz everywhere, and it being in black and white.
I also used a smartboard for the first time this day, but I decided to not make that one my new thing. They are really awesome though. I now have two classes that have them, and they're just really great, and I can tell teachers enjoy teaching more with them. Something to think about all you teachers out there...

176. Apr. 15: I ate a roast beef au jus sandwich.
It wasn't that great, I would never choose to have one just on my own, and it didn't look that appealing. If you like them, that's great, but I found out they're not for me.

SOUTHERNER
175. Apr. 14: I saw a play in the Fireside theater at Chanhassen Dinner Theaters.
I always thought that the mainstage was the only dinner theater among the bunch, but they have you eat beforehand, and then they usher you in to the theater- either the fireside or the playhouse. Always...Patsy Cline was showing, and I've never really listened to Patsy Cline, but from what I have heard, the woman who was playing her was truly spot on. If you like her, see it. I will mention that I was probably one of 5 people under the age of 50. It was a nice way to mix things up, I would go back and see other shows in the auxilary theaters again. But my heart belongs to the mainstage.

18 Kids and Counting...
So terribly similar to two other new things...
174. Apr. 13: I completed 16 online health assignments in one day.
I really wanted to get it done all in that day, but I was also doing some laundry. I finished up the quarter in three days ultimately, but now I only have a month to do Quarters 1 & 2 of Health 2. It's gonna be a push.

173. Apr. 12: I made it through lent to Easter having given up all pop.
Last year, as I have mentioned before, I gave up Diet Coke and Lays Regular Potato chips, and that was my first time successfully completing lent. Although some still want to argue with me about it. But I was so proud of myself, because I had to exercise a lot of willpower. I have since started to drink pop again, but I have cut down considerably. One can a day, although I have already managed to exceed that a couple of times. It got me thinking that I might be able to give pop up for New Year's next year, but that's a big IF.

172. Apr. 11: I completely cleaned my room top to bottom in less than two hours.
Which includes vacuuming, dusting, throwing crap away, doing laundry, organizing my closet, organizing my bookshelf. Really thoroughly, like behind furniture for vacuuming. This never happens, not even when I take a week. And, it's still clean! Let's see how long this lasts..

171. Apr. 10: I wore my elephant earings.
This one was stupid, but legit, nonetheless. On the sister shopping day in Woodbury, we went to Claires and I got the buy 2 get 1 free deal, so I got Dinosaurs, Elephants, and Tree earings. Dinosaurs might be a little too hip for me, but Emily couldn't stand the idea of me not getting them.

170. Apr. 9: I used an exercise ball.
It is just a coincidence that there have been more than a few exercise related new things. Caroline and I were visiting Emily for lunch, and she has this exercise ball in her room, which I've always only ever sat on, and not used. But then I decided since I had been doing some exercises days previous, I was feeling a little more "adventurous." It didn't work out like I had thought it might:
My first attempt at an exercise ball.
Much as I would love to post the video directly here, I cannot figure out to get it from facebook. I hope that works for everyone. I have since gone back and tried it out again, it worked out a little better this time. Dudesie also tried it but he toppled over. Nothing is hurt. But his pride..

Flavaz 4 Playas
169. Apr. 8: I went to Edinborough Park in Edina.
I'm not entirely sure if I spelled that right. I was babysitting the brothas, and we were there for five hours. FIVE hours. It was ridiculous. It was nice for awhile, I would have liked it if it was around when I was their age. Although..who says it wasn't.. There was an expansive jungle gym area, and bleacher type of stands for parents, and in my case, babysitters. And there was some sort of recreation area, but that was about it. Might have been nice for an hour or two, but they got bored, and I got bored, but I had my book, so I wasn't too worried. It's actually a really nice place for anyone who has kids. If I had kids, I would take them there, for sure.
This is the one and only time I will address my subject line. The last time I was in Florida, we stopped at a grocery store in a strip mall and next door there was a store called Flavaz 4 Playas. I could only wish I was a playa so I could shop there.

Jealous Guy
168. Apr. 7: I did Winsor Pilates.
It's supposedly like this big deal pilates work-out developed by Mari Winsor, who is the last person I want to model my body after, for sure. But anyways, it has this ridonk sculpting circle, and it looks easy, but it is challenging. But as I said, it's supposedly really effective. I just don't have the energy to see if that's true or not. Caroline will attest, I looked really ridiculous, and I couldn't stop laughing. Everything's funnier when you're doing pilates. I should have had her take a picture, what was I thinking?

Truth sits upon the lips of dying men
167. Apr. 6: I facebook chatted.
I wanted to save this one for a day that I was super busy, but Emily started chatting with me, and I couldn't resist. She was apparently bored at school, or something of that nature. It was a pretty lengthy conversation. It was a pretty foreign concept at the time, but now I've done it a couple of other times, and it's like AIM, only not as annoying.
This day I also went to go see Sunshine Cleaning with Meera. It was pretty good, I liked it. It was a little depressing, but honestly, what could I have expected? Then we drove to Sebastian Joe's so she could get some ice cream, and we walked around. It was nice, because that's such a nice neighborhood.

The Summer of '69
166. Apr. 5: I sat all alone in the middle of the congregation at church.
Which I never do, obviously because then it wouldn't be my new thing, I usually sit in the back, or if nothing else, with someone. This time I didn't wait around for anyone to show up, which they did later, and sat in the back, but I marched to the middle of the room, and sat by myself. It was very nice, and I honestly hate when people distract me a whole lot.

The Lovers, the Dreamers and Me
165: Apr. 4: I went to a Gary Rue concert at Uncle Brad and Aunt Rosa's house.
They're the cool Aunt and Uncle who are artists and live in Minneapolis, and are friends with local musicians and host concerts at their house often. Well, if there ever has been a Gary Rue concert there, I haven't been to one. I hesitated to go at first, but Emily and Caroline were going to be there, as well as other family. It was good, there was food afterward, which was especially nice, because I hadn't eaten at all.

Drown the Clown
164. Apr. 3: I tried things on in a store just for the fun of it.
Normally, I will just kind of pass by items that I don't really see myself buying, or perhaps am not in the financial situation to buy (J. Crew, anyone?) and so I don't really ever try anything on that I know I will not buy. But as I was at the Gap with Caroline and Emily, as a sister day we were having, they were both trying things on, and I thought, what the heck, because trying stuff on is fun. I don't know why I don't do it more often, even when, as I say, I have no intention of buying. I suppose I want to eliminate as much work for the employees as possible. But anyways, so I tried on some jeans, that fit really really well, by the way, I will be going back to buy them, and then I tried on a dress, that I would have never in a million years thought I would try on, let alone buy. Which I ended up doing, I needed an Easter dress. It's a strapless hot pink a-line dress, and it's adorable. So I was so glad that I made this my new thing, because otherwise, I would have never bought the dress. I will FOR SURE being doing this more often.
The reason I was at the Gap, as I mentioned, was that I was having a sister day with Caroline and Emily, because Emily was on the tail-end of her spring break, and I was just starting mine. And so we went to target, and I tried on some dresses there too, which were a little too ridiculous for words. And then we went to Woodbury Cafe for lunch, and I got a mondo burger with fries, and then we went to Woodbury lakes, where the gap was. We went back to Emily's house so she could look for some of Josh's old sunglasses for Caroline, and then I ended up getting some glasses from her as well, and I was complaining the whole day about how I didn't have a spring purse, so Emily gave my one of her old ones, and she also gave me a shirt. It was just like a little sister swap get together. Then we went out for some Jamba, and brought one over to Josh's house, where we proceeded to play Wii with Izabell. All good fun.
I must mention, that I was OBSESSED with Friends this week. I just suddenly got in the mood to watch some, and since I had Season 10 on DVD, I just watched a few episodes, and then I eventually watched the whole season, and then, since I still had Season 5 on loan from Lizzie, I watched some of that too. Target put a price cut on all of the seasons, so I bought 6 and 7 as well. I have yet to buy 8 and 9, but I'll get there. I don't think anyone in my house was too happy with me during this explosion I had going on over here.

Double Indemnity
163. Apr. 2: I bought an item of make-up without doing any research beforehand, instead solely on hype.
And it was Lash Stiletto by Maybelline. Everybody is probably like "Oh, but this is lame." BUT, I seriously cannot buy any make up without first doing research, because what if I buy something that's crap, and I just wasted a ton of money on it? Economics teaches us that that is called a sunk cost, but I don't care. So, I took a leap with this one, and it payed off, because this stuff is fabulous. It might be my first double mascara purchase, meaning I have never been satisfied enough with an individual brand to waste my money on it twice. I would recommend it to anyone who wears mascara.

We've come too far to leave it all behind
162. Apr. 1: I downloaded a Rihanna song on iTunes.
This was a treat to myself after having finally getting our computer fixed so we could download the new iTunes, meaning we could actually download songs. Which we couldn't before. For some reason, ever since hearing it in a video that Molly made, I've liked the song "Shut up and drive." It's pretty stupid, but it's catchy. But I had been wanting to download it since I heard it again in I Love You Man, but as I mentioned, stupid downloading restrictions kept me from it.

Let us go then, You and I
161. Mar. 31: I made a prank for April Fool's.
Even though we'll all agree that April Fool's was the next day, I made up the prank during the day, and literally created the material I needed for it. I won't say what it was, because the prank is still going on, I'm not sure when we're going to tell the person who it's on that it's not real. When it's all out in the open, I'll post what I did. And they def fell for it. I've never been a good "fooler." And we got a lot of people in on it.

Charge of the Light Brigade
160. Mar. 30: I watched a documentary on Princess Margaret.
I didn't know the Queen had a sister, so that was news to me. I became engaged because there was this intro that made it seem really juicy, and I wanted to know the dirt on the Royal family. But it totally wasn't, it was about her relationship with Peter Townsend, and how it was supes scandalous, and then they didn't get married anyway. Educational!

Let's make the best of the situation, before I finally go insane
159. Mar. 29: I filled in for Katie Batz with warming up the little kids with music on Sunday mornings at church.
As I mentioned it's Katie's thing, but she was out of town, and asked if I would do it, and so I did. The kids were cute, if not rambunctious. It was only like ten minutes. And then I did it again this week, because she was out of town again. They were a little more wild this time. Seems like the kind of thing I would be too shy to do, even though it's just little kids. Even though I've already done it "again" I would do it again.

Take me down alleys where the murders are done
158. Mar. 28: I performed a Psychology experiment.
Mari and I did an experiment on our friends testing confidence levels. We gave them a crossword puzzle labeled either easy, or difficult, and let them work on it while we "set up the experiment." What we didn't tell them was that both the puzzles were the same level, and what they thought was easy was really difficult. So our point was to shatter, or boost, their confidence level, depending on the puzzle they chose. Then we'd give them the Pepsi Challenge, but they didn't pick their favorite, they had to tell us which one was Pepsi. Then they'd take a survey afterwards rating how confident they were that they chose correctly. We hypothesized that the easy puzzlers would have lower confidence, and difficult puzzlers would have regular, to high confidence. And we were right. Very interesting experiment, I thought.

They're so spaced out
157. Mar. 27: I tried the 10 calorie Vitamin Water.
Hear me out. I've been a little in a protest of Vitamin water ever since I realized that it's not as healthy as you'd believe. Sure, it's got all those vitamins. But it's got a ton of calories per bottle. And I don't like to drink high calorie drinks. I mean, I might as well eat a bowl of chips at that rate. Anyways, so I tried the Lemonade flavor, because I've always been fond of it, and it tasted fine. A little less sweet, which I'm always a fan of. So, I'd recommend that anyone who loves Vitamin Water, switch off to the 10 calorie version. Which is actually 25 for the whole bottle, but not that bad.

The Eye of the Tiger
Wow, it's been a long time. Seriously, we all know me promising it won't happen again won't do anything.
156. Mar. 26: In protest of the cold weather, I wore my swim suit under my clothes to school.
It felt so nice to put my swim suit on, even though I knew I was not going to be swimming. Although, I was pretty uncomfortable the whole day, I still wore it with pride. If I hadn't forgot to bring my camera to school, I would post a picture, but I did, so I won't.
